Domaine de Baronarques, nestled in Saint-Polycarpe near Limoux in the Languedoc region, is a wine estate with a rich historical past, dating back to the 17th century when it was known as Domaine de Lambert and belonged to the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Polycarpe. This link with the local monastic history gives the estate a depth and uniqueness that is reflected in its wines.
In 1998, the Rothschild family, renowned for their winegrowing heritage, acquired the estate and undertook a meticulous restoration to turn it into a jewel in the crown of Southern French viticulture. Covering 110 hectares, 43 of which are planted with vines, the estate benefits from a unique terroir influenced by Atlantic and Mediterranean climates, tempered by the altitude of the Pyrenees.
This exceptional combination of terroir and history, combined with a diversified blend of Bordeaux and Mediterranean grape varieties, gives Domaine de Baronarques wines a strong, refined identity rooted in tradition and winemaking excellence.
