Just six miles from the Tuscan coastline, close to Bolgheri and and 45 minutes south of Pisa, Caiarossa stands out for its respectful, innovative approach to winemaking.
In 2004, Caiarossa was acquired by Eric Albada Jelgersma, who was searching for an Italian counterpart for his historic estate in Bordeaux-Margaux, Château Giscours.
Caiarossa is a 40-hectare breathtaking vineyard, boasting such diversity that it takes eleven grape varieties to truly showcase the incredible range of soils and terroirs across the vineyard composed by 67 different parcels of land, each with their own geology, altitude, aspect and micro-climate.
Since the domain’s foundation, the biodynamic approach has guaranteed the sustainability and fertility of not just the vineyards of Caiarossa but the entire ecosystem around the domain. All of this allows the domain to craft the most distinctive, complex and elegant Caiarossa wines, expressing the full personality of this truly unique estate.
